I'm sure I made some mistakes here.
I have to learn German! Last night I was with people who only spoke German. I was frustrated because I didn't understand anything.
I really felt like an outsider and it's all my fault!
Ich bin dumm. :(

It's a tough language ... but it will come to you ... eventually. At least I hope so: I'm having the same problem.

You're *not* dumb and your writing in German was darn-near perfect (the L in Leute is capitalized, but who cares about that?)
It does take time to learn and being with a group of German speakers and trying to keep up with the conversation is SO hard. But one day it just clicks and off you go.
